Abbeyfield House, Irvine
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Abbeyfield House, Irvine, for ranking in the top 2% of those in Scotland in The Times newspaper’s league table of care homes; understands that the report concentrated on the standard of care provided by homes, especially focussing on the health, wellbeing, safety and quality of life enjoyed by residents, with an emphasis on everyone having the right to good quality, compassionate care, which meets their needs and respects their right; further understands that Abbeyfield House ranked 14th out of 800 care homes; recognises the staff at the home who have been working tirelessly over the years, including during an extremely difficult time for the sector throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; congratulates them on what it sees as their exemplary work, and wishes the staff and residents the very best for the future.
