UK Government’s Programme on Building Resilience and Adapting to Climate Change in Malawi
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the UK Government's efforts in Malawi to strengthen poor households' resilience to current and projected weather and climate-related shocks and stresses; understands that this will, in turn, halt what it sees as the annual cycle of humanitarian crises that blights people's lives, harms poverty reduction efforts, and consumes resources; notes that the programme runs from July 2018 to December 2023, with a projected budget of £90.5 million and a total spend of £55.4 million to date; commends the UK Government's efforts in Malawi, and wishes this programme and everyone involved nothing but success.
