Uddingston Grammar Pupil Wins the Harry Barry Prize for Music

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates sixth-year pupil, Shannen Wallace, of Uddingston Grammar School, South Lanarkshire, on receiving the Harry Barry Prize for Music; understands that Shannen, a talented singer and guitarist, has won the opportunity to record professionally at the Riverside Music Complex in Busby; notes that this annual music prize celebrates the life and work of the prolific Uddingston composer and musician, Harry Barry, who wrote hundreds of jingles and songs in a career spanning 50 years, and applauds Shannen on the prize while wishing her every success in her sixth-year study of Advanced Higher Music as well as in her career aspiration to become a sound engineer.
