Lerwick Boating Club Playing Key Role in International Sailing Races

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates the achievements of Lerwick Boating Club in playing an integral part in national and international sailing races; understands that Lerwick is the "top port" in the Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race and that Lerwick Boating Club is a key part of the hospitality afforded to participating sailors in the Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race, having been involved in the four-yearly race since its inception in 1966, and will again welcome sailors in the midsummer Bergen to Shetland race; praises Lerwick Boating Club for this international collaboration with sailors and yachtsmen; understands that the Lerwick Boating Club organises junior and adult training for sailing dinghies, Shetland model races and yoal rowing races as well as sailing and rowing regattas; praises Lerwick Boating Club for promoting Shetland’s boating heritage through these activities; congratulates Lerwick Boating Club for its achievements, and wishes all at the club well.
