GMB Scotland and Apple Glasgow Workers Apply to be a Voluntary Union Organisation
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates GMB Scotland and Apple Glasgow workers on applying to be a Voluntary Union Organisation; commends Apple Glasgow workers for joining GMB Scotland despite, it understands, anti-union pressures from Apple and failed attempts to become unionised in the United States; supports Apple Glasgow workers in their bid to have what it sees as a proper voice to change things in the face of an employer that, reportedly, speaks of social justice but in reality leaves staff facing a cost of living crisis with, it understands, low pay, unfair shift patterns and a lack of respect, and welcomes this application asking Apple to voluntarily recognise the Union and be willing to negotiate with union leaders.
