The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Primary 7 pupils, and staff, on establishing and hosting their own Social Enterprise Café from May 2022; understands that this involved the creation of a business plan and pitch to the Social Enterprise Academy's Dragons' Den Event in April 2022; recognises that Aberdour Primary School won first place at this event, and was subsequently awarded £100 as a seed fund to establish its social enterprise; further recognises that the core aim of the social enterprise is to tackle loneliness and isolation within the community; notes that the fund was put to good use, with large scale banners purchased to advertise the café; further notes that the café was operated sustainably and that it purchased the required ingredients from Grain and Sustain, Burntisland; understands that pupils took on a variety of roles, including waiters, socialisers, and coffee makers, to ensure the smooth running of the café; wishes the school all the best as it continues this work into the next session, embedding this link with the local community, and wishes the current Primary 7s all the very best as they transition to high school.
