Orchard Nursery's Breastfeeding Friendly Accreditation

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges Orchard Nursery, in Motherwell, on becoming the first Early Learning Centre in North Lanarkshire to receive Breastfeeding Friendly Accreditation; recognises the Centre's commitment to giving young people the best start in life and, it considers, the pathway to a healthy future; understands that staff have completed training and have a designated Breastfeeding Champion, along with a new breastfeeding policy to support mums and their families; commends the promotion of the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme in the local community, which acknowledges that, in Scotland, breastfeeding mums are protected to feed an infant up to the age of two years in public places or establishments that allow children access, and wishes the dedicated staff, volunteers, mums and their families continued success in the future.
