The motion

That the Parliament congratulates pupils at St Michael’s Primary, in Port Glasgow, on winning the John Muir Award for their eco-friendly and sustainable projects; notes that the award, named after the famous Scottish environmental activist with the same name, was presented during a special ceremony and celebration; understands that the pupils received a medal for building a "bug hotel", planting vegetables on school grounds, planting a tree for the school, helping at a nature reserve and making pieces of art from recyclable material; commends teacher, Carron Rose, for organising many of the activities that enabled the pupils to engage with the topics of sustainability and the climate, and wishes everyone at the school all the best for the future as they continue to explore how to make their building and operations even more environmentally-friendly.
