Royal Zoological Society of Scotland Given People’s Choice Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland on winning the People’s Choice award in the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) 2022 Scottish Charity Awards; understands that the People’s Choice award is won by the Charity Awards finalist who receives the most votes from members of the public; further understands that more than 18,000 votes were cast online in this year’s People’s Choice category; recognises that the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has worked to protect threatened species in Scotland and across the world for over 100 years; believes that the contribution by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has been invaluable to conservation efforts across the globe; welcomes the ongoing success of SCVO’s annual Charity Awards, and notes what it sees as the important role that the event plays in highlighting the incredible efforts of organisations and individuals across Scotland’s voluntary sector.
