The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the children in P3 to P7 from St Mungo’s Primary School, who donated care packs to elderly patients at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI), after launching an appeal for essential items; understands that the care packs included pyjamas, slippers or bed socks, hairbrushes and combs, puzzle books and toiletries, were created by the school’s Laudato Si Action Group, and helped to support those experiencing longer hospital stays; further understands that the children were aware that many hospital patients had been unable to have visitors due to COVID-19 restrictions, or that visitor numbers had been greatly reduced, and hoped that their packs would extend Laudato Si’s message of care to those in their local community; acknowledges that the GRI is the school's neighbour, and understands that many of the children were born in the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital, which is also on the site, and they have friends and family who work within the hospital complex; further acknowledges what it sees as the importance of the school playing a role in the wider community, and commends the desire of the young people to help their neighbours in the hospital and to forge closer links with them.
