Morton in the Community’s Breakfast and a Blether

Lodged by Stuart McMillan (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 18 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament commends Morton in the Community, Greenock Morton FC’s charity arm, on launching "Breakfast and a Blether", which is their latest initiative aimed at tackling social isolation; understands that the morning mental health meet will take place every Wednesday morning from 9.30 to 11.00 am at Cappielow for anyone aged 18 and over for breakfast rolls and a chat; notes that the project, funded by the Inverclyde Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, will run up to Christmas, and hopes to see local care homes engage too; understands that some of Morton in the Community’s other projects run in the evening, and so health and wellbeing manager, Jonny Roy, wanted to provide somewhere for people to go in the mornings so they were not waiting all day for support; thanks Jonny and all at Morton in the Community for their commitment to providing initiatives that aim to address social isolation, and wishes them all the best with "Breakfast and a Blether".
