50 Years of Polmont Playgroup

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates 50 years of Polmont Playgroup; understands that the playgroup, which operates from Greenpark Community Centre in Polmont, welcomes around 25 children at each session from the local area throughout the week, leading them in learning through play with experienced and dedicated playleaders; understands that the playgroup is self-funded by taking part in fundraising activities throughout the year, the next event being its bingo night in September 2022, while they have also been supported by businesses in the local area; considers that play-led learning is vital to a child’s development, and playgroups are critical in helping to develop social skills from an early age, complementing the Scottish Government’s ambitions to make Scotland the best place in the world for a child to grow up; congratulates Polmont Playgroup on its 50th Anniversary, and looks forward to its continuing success in supporting children and families throughout the Polmont and Brightons area.
