The Keynotes Choir, Falkirk
The motion
That the Parliament notes that The Keynotes is a choir set up by the charity, Key, in Falkirk; understands that the majority of those involved are adults with learning disabilities; further understands that the organisers successfully applied for Scottish Government funding with the aim of promoting the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic; acknowledges that the choir has been rehearsing regularly in community venues and aims to share members' passion for music and singing with others who may be experiencing social isolation within their community; notes that The Keynotes' debut performance was at Forth Valley Sensory Centre and there are further performances planned for 8 July at Carrondale Care Home and 29 July 2022 at Dates’n’Mates’ Party in Park, and welcomes what is sees as the success of The Keynotes in bringing people together, building confidence, tackling loneliness, and nurturing friendships.
