Clydebank Pupils Grow Produce and Gain Skills and Experience

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the green-fingered senior pupils from Clydebank High School and St Peter the Apostle High School, who it understands have been tending a community garden at Melfort Park; notes that the pupils undertook a 10-week horticultural programme run by West Dunbartonshire Council’s Greenspace team and West College Scotland; understands that this has allowed them the opportunity to gain accreditation and valuable work experience; celebrates the bountiful harvest which includes, potatoes, lettuce and strawberries grown by the pupils and to be shared amongst a local sheltered housing complex; applauds projects such as this which, it believes, develops young people’s skills and helps them transition to the next stage in their education or training, and wishes the pupils well in their future cultivation endeavours.
