Glasgow Football Club Becomes SFA Licensed Thanks to Fans Fundraising Efforts

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Pollok FC on its successful application for membership at entry level from the SFA; notes that this now allows the club to be promoted to the Lowland League and more immediately, annual entry to the Scottish Cup, a competition Lok have entered twice before as West Super league winners; understands that the recent promotion will help increase the club's profile and allow them to test themselves against Scotland's top teams; notes that this would not have been possible without the help of fans who, it understands raised more than £20,000; understands that the requirements to become SFA licensed meant that the club needed to install new toilets, a disabled shelter, new signage and most importantly, floodlights; notes that the installation of the floodlights could not have been achieved without the support of almost 300 donors, who it understands raised in excess of £20,000; further notes that the fan-owned community club was formed in 1908 and was based in Pollok Park until 1926, making Newlandsfield Park their home in 1928, and notes that the southside football club thanked fans after the installation of floodlights, which it understands helped the team become an SFA licensed club.
