Professor Sathish Srinivasan

The motion

That the Parliament applauds Professor Sathish Srinivasan for his medical contribution to the field of eye care; understands that Professor Sathish set up the Ayrshire Eye Foundation, which is the charity wing of the Ayrshire Eye Clinic in Ayr; further understands that Professor Srinivasan is a world leading professor specialising in eye disease and travels the world teaching other eye doctors how to operate on eye disease, especially in developing countries; understands that the Foundation aims to help eradicate curable causes of blindness, of which, it understands, 98% of cases are in the developing world; acknowledges that the Ayrshire Eye Foundation has selected six people to undergo free eye surgery at the clinic, which, it believes, will relieve pressure on the NHS while it recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic; commends Professor Srinivasan and everyone at the Ayrshire Eye Foundation for all of their hard work, and wishes them the very best for the future.
