Mauchline Cyclists Raise Funds for Charity with 430-mile Challenge

The motion

That the Parliament applauds Mauchline’s Alan Cook and his team on completing a challenging 430-mile in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity; notes that the team were on the road for a total of 28 hours travelling from John O’Groats and finishing at the Mull of Galloway; understands that the team of cyclists regularly take on long-haul bike rides of more than 100 miles; further understands that the fundraising idea came from cyclist, Paul Reid, whose dad had passed from cancer and had received care from the Beatson prior to his passing; understands that the team set up an online fundraiser with a target of £500, and applauds the team in surpassing this with a total of £8,500 raised in online and offline donations; believes that the team will continue to look for further challenges, and wishes them well on their future endeavours.
