Ayrshire Charge Nurse Shortlisted for Prestigious UK Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Christine McNamara, a charge nurse in Ayr, on being shortlisted in the Nursing Older People Award Category in the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Nursing Awards 2022; understands that the awards ceremony is due to be held on 6 October 2022 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London; notes that Christine has been selected as a finalist from hundreds of entrants; further notes that Christine has been working with elderly mental health inpatients for over 31 years; understands that she developed a project charter and training to provide all staff with evidence-based falls prevention training; applauds her hard work in, it understands, achieving a significant reduction in falls among older mental health patients and almost 50% reduction in falls that cause severe harm; commends Christine for her dedication to her role, and salutes the role of the NHS workforce for their service to the patients they care for within communities; appreciates her hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to her role, and wishes her continued success in her career ahead and all the best on the night of the awards ceremony.
