Ayrshire Stalwart Honoured with Special Accolade

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Troon’s Frances Carson on being awarded  the Alan Ferguson Champion Tenant or Resident of the Year award at the Tenant Participatory Advice Service (TPAS), National Good Practice Awards in June 2022; notes that the accolade was presented at the ceremony held at the Golden Jubilee in Clydebank; understands that Frances is not only a tenant but also runs the Muirhead Tenants and Residents Association, and is chair of the town’s community council; further understands that through the COVID-19 pandemic, Frances ran a food bank from her home and rallied volunteers to help families unable to feed themselves; appreciates that the award recognises those that have not only helped disadvantaged households but reduced social isolation and made a significant impact on their landlords services; acknowledges that the Muirhead Tenants and Residents Association was also recognised as runners up in the category Group Champion of the Year; commends Frances for her incredible work that saw her recognised for the award, and wishes her well in her future endeavours.
