Paving the Way, Interim Report
The motion
That the Parliament supports and commits to engaging with the findings from Who Cares? Scotland’s new interim report about The Promise called, Paving the Way; notes that this report, which, it understands, was informed by 46 care experienced members of Who Cares? Scotland, is the beginning of understanding what members think about the Scottish Government’s Keeping The Promise Implementation Plan; believes that the Scottish Government must involve those with lived experience of care when planning on how to improve Scotland's care system; thanks the care experienced people of all ages who travelled across the country to Glasgow to attend The Promise and You event on 18 June 2022, and those who engaged in an online workshop to share their views about the implementation plan; understands that there will be more events and opportunities for care experienced people to engage with the Scottish Government’s plans to realise The Promise; further understands that Who Cares? Scotland will be leading out a series of events around the country to build on what was learnt from this first meeting, and supports this action as part of creating further scrutiny of how The Promise is being kept to care experienced infants, children, young people, adults and their families, so that every child grows up loved, safe and respected and able to realise their full potential.
