Port of Grangemouth Secures Scottish Express Service for Exports

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Port of Grangemouth, CMA CGM Group and Forth Port Links on the successful completion of a new Scottish Express Service delivering exports from Scotland worldwide; understands that the Port of Grangemouth will play a vital role in the transport of exports through a Skylight container vessel, which will enter the Port of Grangemouth on a weekly basis; notes that the project is supported by CMA CGM Group who, it understands, are influential in global logistical solutions, assisting Scotland in transporting its goods to both European and worldwide markets, effectively through over 20,000 containers per annum; recognises what it sees as the economic importance of this project in developing global trade opportunities, creating infrastructure, creating jobs and establishing Grangemouth and Central Scotland as an important hub for freight transportation; congratulates the achievements by Port of Grangemouth, CMA CGM Group and Forth Port Links in successfully establishing the Scottish Express Service, and wishes them well for future projects.
