Helensburgh and Lomond Carers win Excellence for Carers Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Helensburgh and Lomond Carers on being given the Excellence for Carers Award by the Carers Trust; believes that the charity, which supports unpaid carers across the Helensburgh and Lomond area, showed its quality of leadership and engagement with local partners in achieving the award; congratulates the organisation on what it sees as its demonstration of excellence and its clear sense of purpose, mission and direction, which was exemplified to the Carers Trust; recognises that the charity’s staff and volunteers aim to make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Helensburgh and Lomond through compassion and understanding of the needs of unpaid carers who, it believes, care for their loved ones under extreme pressures every single day and that during the COVID-19 pandemic, had to operate under even more challenging conditions with little or no opportunity for respite, and considers that unpaid carers are the backbone of society and that organisations such as Helensburgh and Lomond Carers are essential in supporting them.
