Uddingston Business Woman Nominated for Small Entrepreneur of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Uddingston business woman, Carol Jackson, who has reached the finals of the British Entrepreneur Awards 2022 in the Small Entrepreneur of the Year category; acknowledges that these awards recognise excellence, with the small business category in particular celebrating the resilience and fortitude of a sector that acts as a critical incubator for new ideas; understands that Carol launched her successful gin company, Ellis Gin, in 2018 to produces high quality, small batch Scottish gins, with a focus on fun, including producing unique and fascinating gins that change colour when a mixer is added; further understands that, through Carol’s hard work and creativity, Ellis Gin has fast become a well-established small enterprise, including completing its first export to China; believes that Ellis Gin has become synonymous with quality, as demonstrated by Ellis Gin No. 5 being a past finalist in the Scottish Gin Awards; recognises that Carol's entrepreneurship is well known across the Scottish business community, with Carol recently speaking at a Lanarkshire Business Leaders event, and wishes Carol every success for growing her small business.
