Roseann Quigley Big Afternoon Tea for Breast Cancer Now
The motion
That the Parliament commends Roseann Quigley, who has fundraised for Breast Cancer Now; understands that Roseann has cycled over 300km and is hosting an afternoon tea to raise vital funds for research and support for people with breast cancer; further understands that Roseann herself is a breast cancer survivor; acknowledges that the month of August is Breast Cancer Now’s Afternoon Tea month, which it understands is one of the charity’s biggest fundraising events, raising over £7 million for people affected by breast cancer since the first tea was served more than 20 years ago; understands that each year in Scotland around 4,700 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and 15% of these cases, over 700 women, will be triple negative, where treatment has gruelling side effects, and wishes Roseann all the best for the future and with her fundraising events.
