Helensburgh’s Margaret Rose School of Dance Success in Canada

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates dancers from Helensburgh’s Margaret Rose School of Dance on winning 75 medals at the ScotDance Highland Dance event in Saskatchewan, Canada; recognises that the dancers represented Helensburgh and Scotland with pride and worked hard in the run-up to the event to secure the impressive medal haul which included 20 gold medals, five silver and 50 bronze; understands that as well as performing and competing at Highland Games events during the summer, the dancers will also be working to prepare for the ScotDance event in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2023 where they will be targeting further medals, and congratulates the teacher, Margaret MacInnes, for her dedication to Highland dancing and her efforts in teaching the pupils to an extremely high standard.
