Turriff Restoration Project Nominated at 2022 Scottish Design Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates north east architect Annie Kenyon on being shortlisted for the prestigious Scottish Design Awards 2022 for her plans to save the long-term future of a 225-year-old Aberdeenshire farm steading by turning it into new houses; understands that the design plans will retain all the elegant and classical features of the historic category B listed Mains of Carnousie near Turriff, and convert it into six homes; further understands that to support the restoration project, an enabling development will be built nearby, which will create a small community of 15 new, architect-designed, energy-efficient homes; believes that the Scottish Design Awards celebrate class-leading work, best practice, sustainability, and innovation in all its forms across architecture and design; notes that this year's awards ceremony was held in Glasgow on Wednesday 29 June 2022; considers that achieving such a nomination is a remarkable achievement, and hopes others take inspiration from their efforts.
