75th Anniversary of Republic of Pakistan Independence Day

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Republic of Pakistan on celebrating the 75th anniversary of its independence on 14 August 2022; acknowledges what it sees as the success that Pakistan has made of its independence since 1947; celebrates what it considers to be the positive contribution that the Pakistani diaspora has made to the social, economic and cultural life of Scotland; considers that there are reciprocal benefits delivered by the many projects, initiatives and collaborations that exist between Pakistan and Scotland, and congratulates Pakistanis in Scotland and throughout the world as they mark Youm-e-Azadi, Independence Day 2022.
