Successful Community Choice Bids for Play Facilities in Westquarter and Redding

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Laura Macdonald, Emma Donnelly and Shannon Donnelly of Westquarter, Falkirk on their successful funding bids for leisure improvements to the local community; understands that Laura, Emma and Shannon placed a bid for community funding through the Falkirk Council Community Choices funding scheme, which allocates grants to community projects as voted for by residents within the local community; applauds the incredible amount of hard work it considers Laura, Emma and Shannon undertook to distribute leaflets to both businesses and residents in the Westquarter and Redding areas of Falkirk, and to engage with local residents as to what services would be most beneficial to their communities; believes that, by involving the community, bids for a pump track in Westquarter, and new playpark equipment in Redding, were both successful in being awarded funding of £40,000 and £77,000 respectively; considers that this awarded funding will benefit children of all ages across both communities, and provide recreational facilities for young people within the area; acknowledges the support of Sylvia Bradley of Westquarter Community Wing in working with Laura, Emma, and Shannon to secure these funding bids from Community Choices successfully; congratulates Laura, Emma and Shannon on their successful bids to improve leisure opportunities for young people in Westquarter and Redding, and looks forward to these projects being completed.
