Team South Lanarkshire Competes in the International Children's Games

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates team South Lanarkshire who will be competing in the International Children’s Games taking place in Coventry between 11 and 16 August 2022; notes that the Games is endorsed by the International Olympic Committee and more than 1,600 athletes from across the world will take part in seven sports; understands that South Lanarkshire will be sending a team of 16 young people, with eight competing in girls' football, four in athletics, and four in swimming, and will be prepared by four coaches; further notes that the girls' football team is made up of Lily Boyce, May Cruft, Ellie Dunachie, Ellie Dyson, Katie Fraser, Sienna McGoldrick, Olivia McStay, and Emma Thomson, the athletics team is made up of Emma Clark, Owen Murphy, Tehillah Chioma Ikechukwu Okonkwo and Angus Wilson, the swimming team is made up of Dean Barghati, Rebecca Cole, Emma McGavin and Thomas Traynor, and the coaches are Cara McBrearty, Lesley McNicol, Tom McTaggart and Gordon McGavin, and wishes team South Lanarkshire all the best for the Games.
