Glasgow, UNESCO City of Music, Shortlisted to Host Eurovision 2023
The motion
That the Parliament regrets that Ukraine is not able to host Eurovision 2023 because of the Russian invasion; welcomes the UK's support for Ukraine by offering to host on their behalf; further welcomes the shortlisting of the city of Glasgow, a UNESCO City of Music since 2008, as a possible host city; considers that the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow Kelvin constituency to be the ideal venue in which to hold the contest; acknowledges the success of COP26, which was hosted there in 2022, and urges the public to support Glasgow and the Scottish Event Campus as the first choice for Eurovision 2023.
