The motion

That the Parliament congratulates North Lanarkshire circular fashion hub, ACS Clothing, on being shortlisted as a finalist in the sustainability category of Barclays seventh annual Entrepreneur Awards, which showcases the best of British Entrepreneurship; notes that the Awards shine a spotlight on “disruptors, game changers and those challenging the status quo”; acknowledges that this is the first time, the sustainability category has been included in the prestigious awards, with the category recognising businesses who have had a positive Environmental, Social and Governance impact on the wider economy; understands that the judges are looking for businesses who serve as role models for environmental-focused companies through driving environmental change, building enduring business models and growing turnover; further understands that ACS Clothing have implemented a range of innovative and sustainable processes into their operations, from a biodiversity hub which utilises an onsite beehive, to a textile garden and wormery, and believes that these initiatives and many others are bringing ACS Clothing ever closer to being a net zero organisation.
