Peterhead Community Response to Road Accident

The motion

That the Parliament commends the community response to the road traffic accident in Peterhead on 20 July 2022; notes the quick response of the community, which, it understands, saw members of the public, including off duty health professionals, special police constables, lifeboat crew, offshore medics, and military personnel all work together to provide life-saving assistance; recognises what it sees as these notable individuals who ran to the scene of the accident, providing urgent medical aid to those involved; gives special acknowledgement to Kevin Reid, Nicola Reid, Alan Kain, Linda Kain, Tracy Arthur, Patrick Davidson and the many others who it believes, selflessly offered urgent assistance, showing the Peterhead community come together during the worst of circumstances and working together for the good of humanity; thanks all those who helped; considers that the accident highlighted the importance of learning First Aid, and the role that public servants do even when off-duty, and commends the work of the emergency services for their quick response while ensuring the safety of witnesses and by-standers.
