Fans Supporting Foodbanks Scotland: Organising for the #RightToFood
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the launch of Fans Supporting Foodbanks Scotland; understands that the network has been launched following the success of the Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative in Liverpool which started in 2015, where collections on game days at Liverpool FC and Everton FC now account for 25% of food collected for foodbanks in North Liverpool, and notes that the supporters at Partick Thistle FC, Celtic FC, Kilmarnock FC, Dundee FC and Dundee United FC who founded Fans Supporting Foodbanks Scotland are encouraging fans of all 42 SPFL clubs to get involved by establishing anti-poverty branches at their own local clubs to hold collections on game days and to set aside rivalries under the motto "Hunger Doesn’t Wear Club Colours".
