Dumbarton Football Club Celebrates 150th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Dumbarton Football Club as it marks its 150th anniversary; acknowledges that it is one of the oldest clubs in Scotland and, indeed, in the world with the Club’s rich history outlined in an exhibit at the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden; thanks the Club Chairperson, Board of Directors and members of the Sons Supporters Trust for organising celebratory events to mark the special milestone; acknowledges the considerable efforts of Pellie the Elephant as the Club Mascot in keeping fans entertained; recognises that Dumbarton FC was one of the most successful clubs, winning the Scottish Football League in the first two seasons of the creation of the competition; congratulates the team on winning four matches out of four in its current Scottish League campaign, and wishes the club all the best in its anniversary year and for the future.
