Lower Clyde Pipes and Drums - Champion of Champions 2022

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Inverclyde based, Blu Marine Lower Clyde Pipes and Drums on becoming Champion of Champions of Grade 4A in the 2022 pipe band season; notes that the band earned this accolade by winning the British Championships in Greenock, coming 2nd at the UK Championships in Lurgan, winning the European Championships in Inverness, winning the Scottish Championships in Dumbarton and coming fourth at the World Championships in Glasgow; further notes that the band will now be promoted to Grade 3B for next season; acknowledges the outstanding achievement of all the players, everyone behind the scenes and all the sponsors who have helped with this success but commends the focus and dedication of Pipe Major Gordon McDermid who, it understands, jointly established and built the Pipe Band over a decade ago; would like to thank everyone connected with the band for showcasing some of the excellent musical talent that exists in Inverclyde in addition to continuing the excellent local pipe band tradition, and thanks the pipe band for instilling additional pride in Inverclyde and for once again proving that Inverclyde can succeed.
