Aberdeen MELA - One World Day 2022

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the success of the Aberdeen MELA - One World Day 2022; notes that on 21 August 2022 in the Westburn Park, thousands attended the largest celebration of its kind in the North of Scotland, embracing multiculturalism, diversity and facilitating cultural exchange; understands that the festival sought to promote a greater awareness of global development issues, inspire people to act for a more equal world and to exemplify opportunities for people to get more involved; further understands that attendees were spoiled by over 100 performers, live music and dancing, a wide variety of exotic food and an after party, and commends all those who organised, performed and attended the event for making it a special success and boosting Aberdeen’s cultural significance.
