Netherthird Community Centre Care Rooms

The motion

That the Parliament commends all staff, board members and volunteers at Netherthird Initiative for Community Empowerment (NICE) on their official opening of the new extension of the Community Centre, which includes a larger main hall and private care rooms; understands that, after four years of hard work and fundraising, efforts to support young people in Cumnock and the surrounding area have taken a giant step forward on the opening of the extension to the Centre; further understands that, after listening to the community in asking for a bigger hall, and the reportedly heartbreakingly high rate of suicides in their small community, they are working together with several mental health professionals to try and change this, and that the comfortable and inviting Care Rooms are an excellent step in the right direction, and sends Margaret, Sylvia, board members, staff and volunteers its best wishes for the future.
