The Right to Protest in Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the legal educational guide about the right to protest in Scotland, which has been created by Amnesty Scotland and JRS Knowhow; notes that the guide is designed for everyone in Scotland, including those visiting or seeking sanctuary in Scotland; commends the guide for explaining what the legal right to protest and the human right to freedom and assembly mean in practice for people in Scotland; considers that the provision of accurate, clear and Scotland-specific information is invaluable in facilitating what it sees as an essential element in shared democracy and the exercise of fundamental human rights, and hopes that this guide will be widely accessed and used.
