3rd Gourock Boys’ Brigade Raises £25,000 for Charity
The motion
That the Parliament commends 3rd Gourock Boys’ Brigade (BB) for raising £25,000 over the last decade through its annual charity quizzes; understands that the youth organisation reached the milestone at their latest quiz night as they collected funds for Man On! Inverclyde, a local mental health charity, and My Name'5 Doddie foundation, which was set up by former Scottish rugby player, Doddie Weir, who has Motor Neurone Disease (MND); recognises the boys' work on the project throughout the BB session, choosing and contacting the beneficiary charities, organising the venue and catering, printing entry and raffle tickets and making up the quiz questions; thanks the company for their commitment to raising money for both local and national causes, and wishes them all the best for their next fundraising venture.
