The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Aiva Connor, Charlie Franklin, Olivia McCuish, Paige Mcginlay and James Marshall, of DNC Dance School in Grangemouth, Falkirk, on their recent selection to participate in Strictly Kids as part of STV’s Children’s Appeal; understands that all dancers participating are now undertaking training to prepare for the event, which is to be held in the Doubletree By Hilton, in Glasgow, on 2 October 2022; further understands that while this is a formal event which allows participants to get dressed up, have fun and compete for a trophy, this event is also supporting a charity which operates across Scotland and is much needed in local communities given cost of living pressures; commends all those taking part for their fundraising efforts in support of the Hillhead charity, which provides assistance to families across Scotland through food packages, baby packages alongside learning and personal support; congratulates Aiva, Charlie, Olivia, Paige and James on their selection for Strictly Kids, and wishes them well in their competition and fundraising.
