1,200-mile Walk for Suicide Awareness

The motion

That the Parliament commends John Gibson on his 1,200-mile walk from Land’s End to John o’ Groats; understands that he is completing this route to help raise awareness of suicide prevention and postvention; recognises that he is also doing this in memory of his son, Cameron Gibson, who died by suicide in 2019; considers what it sees as the importance of reducing stigma and encouraging discussions around mental health; appreciates the work that John is doing to influence this; acknowledges that the Highland Suicide Prevention Group and other mental health groups in the Highlands and Islands region have supported John’s campaign, and praises John for his commitment to raising awareness of the issue.
