INEOS Completes Tour De France Challenge for Local Charities

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the employees of INEOS, including those at its manufacturing base in Grangemouth, on successfully completing and fundraising for the Tour de France Challenge; commends the 122 teams globally that participated in this event, including the 11 teams from INEOS locations in Scotland, including Grangemouth, Aberdeen, Dalmeny and Finnart; acknowledges that the event involved teams covering the same distances as those competing in the Tour de France, across a 21-stage challenge; understands that the 2,569 employees who took part globally covered 1,283,865 km and raised £122,000 for local charities, with Scottish teams covering 133,945 km and raising £11,000; further understands that team members in this event were able to cycle for leisure and daily commuting in order to achieve their target of cycling 3,328 km each; notes that the charities chosen by the INEOS locations in Scotland include SAMH, Cycling Without Age Scotland, CHAS, Tiny Tickers, Strathcarron Hospice, Parkinson's UK, Brain Trust, BEAT, Forth Valley Hospital Children’s Ward Cystic Fibrosis and Diabetes Team, and Cerebral Palsy Scotland; congratulates INEOS on successfully completing and fundraising through this event, and looks forward to seeing its fundraising efforts for its local communities in the future.
