Hawick Festival of Wellbeing

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Future Hawick, McLaughlin & Harvey, Hawick Community Pump Track and Hawick Cycling Club on hosting the first ever Hawick Festival of Wellbeing, which took place at the award-winning Wilton Lodge Park on 21 August 2022; understands that, in addition to the existing Park facilities of a children’s play park, community pump track, museum, walled garden and café, an array of activities such as massage, tai-chi, yoga, pilates, zumba, cycling, dancing, walking football, rugby, bubble football, and laser quest were available to suit all ages and fitness levels, with the aim of promoting positive health and wellbeing; understands that the festival also featured a “gazebo village”, which was home to various stalls offering health, wellbeing, and nutritional products, as well as practical advice and sign-posted support for those who need it, including from NHS Borders; recognises what it sees as the importance of health and wellbeing to the people of Scotland; thanks everyone involved in the Hawick Festival of Wellbeing for promoting the importance of positive physical and mental wellbeing, and wishes all involved every success as preparations for next year’s festival proceed.
