Jayla Kepler’s Golfing Success

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jayla Kepler, from Greenock, on becoming a young golfing champion after only taking up the game two years ago; understands that Jayla joined Greenock Golf Club after being inspired by watching tournaments on TV and, since then, the 13-year-old has competed in countless competitions across Scotland and has made history at the club by becoming the first member to make it to the finals of both the junior and ladies contests at the same time; notes that, this season, Jayla was runner-up in the Greenock Golf Club junior championship and winner of the Bronze Handicap category in the West Girls Medal at Troon Portland, and, at a competition at Kilmacolm Golf Club, she secured 50 stableford points meaning she finished 13 points clear of the runner-up; applauds Jayla for her commitment to the sport; wishes her well in future competitions, and hopes her success will encourage other young girls across Inverclyde to consider taking up the sport.
