UHI Colleges Merger Proposal
The motion
That the Parliament notes the ongoing consultation being carried out by the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) on the proposal to merge three of its colleges, UHI North Highland, UHI Outer Hebrides, and UHI West Highland; understands that this proposal builds on the initial consultation carried out by UHI involving staff, students, and external stakeholders, which was intended to support the role of colleges in training, skills development, and leading research, and encourages constituents, students of the colleges, and anyone who might be affected by the proposals to respond and engage with the consultation, which closes on 14 October 2022.
