Emtec Group receives ROSPA President’s Health and Safety Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Uddingston based Emtec Group, which, it understands, is a leading contractor in the building services sector, for receiving the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) President’s Health and Safety Award for demonstrating high standards of health and safety for the 10th consecutive year; understands that the RoSPA Awards scheme, the longest-running of its kind in the UK, rewards companies for their safety performance, receiving almost 2,000 entries from organisations, in almost 50 countries, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for health and safety worldwide; notes that the President’s Award recognises the consistent, long standing prioritisation of Health & Safety by Emtec Group to ensure staff and subcontractors return home safely at the end of every working day; considers that accidents at work and work-related ill health not only cause major disruptions to business processes but that the effect on quality of life to the individual cannot be understated, and applauds organisations such as Emtec Group whose focus on good safety performance, it believes, acts as an exemplar for the wider business community.
