Fundraising by Corinne Hutton and Charity Finding Your Feet
The motion
That the Parliament commends the charitable work of Renfrewshire resident, Corinne Hutton, a quadruple amputee and the first person in Scotland to undergo a double hand transplant; notes that Corinne is raising funds for Finding Your Feet charity by attempting to complete the North Coast 500 on her second-hand scooter and that she hopes to complete the trip in seven days; welcomes that Sepsis Awareness Month takes place in September with World Sepsis Day on 13 September 2022; wishes Corinne the best of luck with her challenge and the future success of Finding Your Feet, which she founded in 2014 after losing both her hands and feet to sepsis and acute pneumonia in 2013; understands that the charity has raised over £2 million for providing support to families affected by amputation and limb difference, building a network of over 800 people, and further understands that, since her life-changing treatment, Corinne has completed the London Triathlon, was the first female quadruple amputee to climb Ben Nevis and Mount Kilimanjaro, and only the third person in history to be given the Freedom of Renfrewshire.
