West Dunbartonshire Council Provides More Than 9,000 Free Exercise Sessions to Help Families During the Cost of Living Crisis
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Labour-run West Dunbartonshire Council on providing more than 9,000 free exercise sessions to young people across the region during the school summer holidays; understands that the initiative is part of a £5 million cost of living fund, which has been created by the Labour administration to help hard-pressed families manage household budgets while costs are rising; acknowledges that between June and August 2022, all school pupils were able to use West Dunbartonshire Leisure swimming facilities free of charge, while pupils between 12 and 18 years old were also entitled to free gym sessions; recognises that 6,060 swim sessions were recorded over the period along with 3,188 gym visits, and congratulates what it sees as the ongoing efforts of the Council to help ease the burden on its citizens during the cost of living crisis.
