Aberdeen Airport Runway Run Raises £40,000 for Local Charities
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that Aberdeen International Airport’s Runway Run took place on 3 September 2022, with over 300 runners participating in the run; notes that the event was organised in partnership between CHC Helicopters and the airport; further notes that participants ran 3.5 km on the runway at the Dyce Terminal; understands that the event raised £40,000 for local charities: Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, Friends of ANCHOR and We Too!; further understands that the overall total is still rising; recognises that over the three years that the event has been run, the Aberdeen Runway Run has raised over £100,000; notes that this is the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that the event has been held, and commends the efforts of all those who participated in the run and those who organised the event.
