Investment in Buckie Harbour
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the £190,000 investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise in Buckie Harbour facilities, doubling the berthing capacity of Macduff Shipyards Ltd facility at the Buckie port, a move that, it believes, will create and sustain 10 jobs in the Buckie area, and considers that the investment protects the proud historic shipbuilding heritage in the Banffshire and Buchan Coast town, allowing it not just to survive but thrive while capitalising on increased work from the renewable sector.
